Did you know Cape May, NJ, was ranked among the top 10 places to retire to in the U.S.? You might also be surprised to learn it’s one of the most historic beach communities in the country, too. My parents were looking around for retirement communities and spoke to some Cape May Realtors about the area, learning a lot in the process. In the meantime, I did a little research of my own.New York City, Philadelphia, and the Baltimore/Washington area are all just a 2-hour drive away from Cape May. That’s a huge benefit for people working in the city but not wanting to live there full time.
Property taxes in the area are relatively reasonable compared to other shore towns or even compared to surrounding towns in New Jersey.
There’s certainly plenty of activities and entertainment to keep you busy if you live there year round. The white sand beaches offering views of beautiful sunrises and sunsets will capture you each and every day.
This quaint little town has been dubbed the Culinary Capital of New Jersey because it has wonderful assortment of both fine dining establishments and casual eateries. The boardwalk there is used for walking, biking, and enjoying arcade games and boardwalk foods.
So I told my parents I thought Cape May was a sweet place to retire to and the Cape May Realtors at Homestead Cape May seemed knowledgeable and personable, too.
